Business - Insurance Services
Northeast Community College
The Business program at Northeast Community College (NCC) offers a certificate in Insurance Services as a business concentration. This certificate can be beneficial for students wanting to learn more about insurance or professionals interested in updating and improving their business skills.
The courses focus on providing students with an interactive training in risk management and insurance. Through this interactive training module, individuals may increase skills and knowledge needed in the insurance field. Graduates from the insurance services program have accepted positions as insurance salesmen and women, insurance brokers, customer service representatives and much more.
This program participates in the distance learning program, which strives to give working professionals the opportunity to finish their degree. Students should have 24/7 access to course materials through an online learning system used by NCC. Eligible students are encouraged to have an understanding of computer skills such as saving, downloading and uploading documents and e-mailing, as well as consistent and reliable Internet access.
In order to graduate, students will need to successfully complete a minimum of 21 credit hours. Students should review the availability of required courses because many courses are only offered during certain semesters. Individuals are encouraged to meet with an advisor to ensure the correct courses are taken and all requirements are met. Examples of courses include personal insurance, principles of insurance, agency operations and introduction to underwriting. NCC also offers an AAS in Insurance Services for students interested in continuing their education after completing this certificate.
