Program Overview

Individuals who are interested in learning about business principles or wanting to update their business skills may find the general business diploma program extremely beneficial. Through completion of this diploma, students will develop an understanding of various business concepts and how they relate to marketing, advertising, management and salesmanship.

This program is offered in a completely online format from Northeast Community College (NCC). The online environment allows individuals to continue working and maintaining their personal and professional responsibilities, while taking classes from home. Students enrolled in an online program should display increased self-motivation to keep up with course content and submit assignments on time, as well as reliable Internet access and basic computer skills such as e-mailing, saving, downloading, and uploading documents. The online learning system used by NCC should allow students to access course information, submit assignments and view schedules and grades from a laptop, tablet or smartphone.

The diploma program requires students to successfully complete at least 33 credit hours. Credits will be accumulated from general education courses, electives and core business classes. Students may enroll in courses such as business math, principles of marketing, customer service and business etiquette and salesmanship. Prior to enrolling in courses, individuals are encouraged to consult with an advisor and review all program requirements. Students should be aware of course availability since some courses are only offered in specific semesters. Individuals with further questions about the program requirements or distance learning component may contact Northeast Community College for more information.
