Interested in starting a career in the banking field? Northeast Community College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Banking. Obtaining this degree can help students seek employment in entry-level banking positions. The curriculum focuses on topics such as customer service, real estate, communication skills and general business.
This is an online program which allows students to complete a degree while maintaining a job or other personal responsibilities. Students should have access to course materials, grades, assignments and tools to interact with classmates and professors through an online educational website used by the college. Reliable access to a computer with Internet and knowledge of basic computer skills is required for online education programs.
Most online materials can be accessed from a laptop, tablet or smartphone for added convenience for students who are on the go. Distance learning, although, convenient expects students to have a higher level of self-motivation in order to complete assignments and keep up with course content.
This degree can be completed in two years and courses are laid out in a specific sequence. The college requires completion of the banking services core, general education courses and electives for the banking concentration.
Students will complete courses such as business math, principles of banking, real estate principles and practices and business communications. A cooperative internship is another component of this program. The internship experience consists of three hours in a banking industry position and will be completed in the summer.

Northeast Community College was initially founded in 1973 by the Nebraska state legislature.
