Program Overview

Interested in transferring to a four-year college or university but undecided in what major to pursue? The Academic Transfer degree from Northeast Community College could be just the place to start. This specific program is designed for students who are interested in liberal arts, a degree that is easily transferrable.

Through successful completion, students should receive an AA degree and be able to transfer to a four-year educational institution. While working closely with advisors and reviewing requirements for the transfer school, students will be able to plan coursework and electives that will hopefully transfer to another institution. Individuals involved in this program should pay attention to when courses are available, some courses are not offered every semester.

A minimum of 60 credit hours is required for graduation, which should be accumulated from general education and elective courses. Students will be able to enroll in courses such as psychology, art history, English composition, and more.

For an added convenience, this program participates in distance learning. The online environment allows busy adults and students who are unable to commute to campus the opportunity to earn a degree from home.  Students should have access to course materials, grades and school e-mail to communicate between classmates and professors.

Depending on the type of distance learning program used by the course, students should be able to retrieve course information from a laptop, tablet or smartphone. Students are encouraged to have consistent Internet access and a basic understanding of computer skills such as downloading, uploading and saving documents for this program.
