Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology / Trauma & Disaster Relief
Northcentral University

Program Details

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD-Psy) program was designed in response to the growing interest in psychology as a discipline of study and the need for advanced studies, including research beyond the master's level. This degree program emphasizes theory, research, and scholarship, culminating in a dissertation.

Exposure to trauma and disaster can lead to emotional and behavioral issues for victims, survivors, relief workers and bystanders. The Trauma and Disaster Relief specialization prepares you to understand the needs of individuals who have witnessed natural disasters, accidents, abuse, physical injury, bullying, etc., and who are grappling with how to cope or to integrate memories or feelings related to that experience.
