The online End of Life Care Certificate prepares individuals seeking advanced knowledge of death and dying in a way that combines the intellectual, emotional, social, psychological, and physical aspects of end of life care. The curriculum provides advanced skills in hospice and palliative care, and also knowledge of unique gerontology related needs during the end of life. Graduates have a comprehensive understanding of bereavement, grief, and mourning; understand caregiver strategies in caring for persons during the dying process; provide care for clients and family in hospice and palliative settings using customer-focused practices; and can emphasize the personal and social values that are enhanced by learning about death.
