Northcentral Technical College offers an online Associate of Applied Science in Information Technology degree program for individuals who want to work in the Information Technology field in some capacity, providing them with the entry-level skills and knowledge needed to find careers in numerous areas of the field. You can choose from the following concentrations, depending on your interests and career goals:
- Computer Support Specialist
- Cybersecurity Specialist
- Software Developer
- Web Designer
The Computer Support Specialist concentration teaches students how to help others with IT problems and concerns by providing end user support and computer network support. The Cybersecurity Specialist concentration is designed for those interested in protecting and defending critical IT infrastructure and data by analyzing cyber threats, implementing innovative controls, and defending against attacks. The Software Developer concentration is for those who want to write web and cloud-based services and develop desktop, web, and mobile applications using programming languages and tools. The Web Designer concentration prepares students to design, develop, and maintain professional, high-quality websites, create digital media, and integrate web technologies to support an organization’s needs while also helping them become proficient with supporting technologies and tools.
This program requires 60-64 credits for completion.
- High school transcript indicating a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above; or
- ACT composite score of 18 or above; or
- Accuplacer scores; or
- College transcript indicating a cumulative GPA of 2.5 over a minimum of 12 credits, earned at a single college
