North Hennepin Community College, a public, two-year institution, was founded in 1966 and is a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system. North Hennepin Community College operates with the mission "to create opportunities for students to reach their academic goals, succeed in their chosen professions, and make a difference in the world." The main campus is located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. 

North Hennepin Community College provides associate's degrees and certificates within 40 academic departments. Many degrees can be transferred to four-year institutions. Some programs can even be completed entirely online.
