School Overview

North Central State College was founded in 1961 as Mansfield School of Technology. By 1968, the Ohio Board of Regents authorized Mansfield School of Technology to become North Central Technical College. Originally the school served Mansfield county but after the name change the school was repositioned to include the counties of Ashland, Crawford and Richland. Then in 1999, due to continued growth and the offering of a wider array of courses, the institution became known as North Central State College. NCSC operates with the mission "to provide the citizens of its service region with the required knowledge and skills to succeed in their chosen path for learning, work or enrichment, sufficient to justify available resources." North Central State College’s is located in Mansfield, Ohio, and shared its campus with Ohio State.

North Central State College provides associate's degrees and certificates and is classified as a public, two-year institution. NCSC also offers many online and hybrid courses through its distance education program. Students can also complete certain associate's degrees and certificates entirely online.
