North Carolina Wesleyan College, a four-year, private, not-for-profit institution, was established in 1956 at the North Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. The school was not opened until 1962, after funds has been collected, with a class of 92 students. North Carolina Wesleyan College is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The school's mission is to prepare students for professional advancement, life-long learning, and responsible participation in their communities.
