Program Details

North Carolina State University at Raleigh offers an online Master of Education in Science Education. This program offers educators an opportunity to extend their knowledge in science teaching effectiveness. Students take classes in foundations and advanced science education. The online Master of Education in STEM Education with a focus on Science Education is intended for science teachers who hold certification, community college instructors, and other informal educators who are not pursuing teacher certification. The curriculum supports science teachers who are applying for National Board Certification. This program can be completed full-time in two years, or part-time within three to four years.

Elective topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Environmental science
  • Nutrition
  • Geospatial information
