Program Details
The online Graduate Certificate in Agriculture and Extension Education equips graduates to serve communities and agribusinesses in many different situations. Food safety, processing, pest management, crop production, and animal agriculture are all processes that need qualified extension professionals. Some courses can be applied to the Master of Agriculture and Extension Education program.
Courses include, but are not limited to:
- Occupational experience in agriculture
- Youth program management
- Teaching agriculture in secondary schools
Most extension professionals work for county or state agencies, or land-grant universities as educators or content specialists. Other career opportunities for graduates include Policy Analyst and Program Coordinator. Graduates will be well-equipped to tackle challenges facing agricultural and extension education.
