Students seeking the NYS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse designation can prepare for the exam with this certificate in Chemical Dependency Counseling. Classes focus on addictive behaviors as well as treatment approaches, pharmacological effects, and family effects of addiction disorders. Students will learn how to approach issues related to diversity, ethical practices, diagnosis, and counseling principles.
