Associate in Science in Health Studies
Niagara County Community College

Program Details

The online Associate in Science in Health Studies is the first step in the professional preparation of health educators.  This program provides a background and understanding of the latest health trends in America, which is important to every business, government, and social policy.  Students also use this degree as a way to transfer to a baccalaureate program in more specific health and business fields, including health care administration, physical therapy, dietetics, education, athletic training, and more.  The curriculum is targeted at developing educational and career goals that will facilitate appropriate certifications in the field and transfer to a bachelor’s degree program, making it easier for students to enter a bachelor’s degree program with the general requirements already met.  You will learn about the contribution of multiple fields of knowledge, such as sociology, psychology, math, and biology, to the development of the health education field.  Graduates will have a professional electronic portfolio with their philosophy, a command of health literacy, and the Health Educators Code of Ethics.
