The online Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education degree program is designed for students who want to transfer to four-year colleges or universities to earn bachelor’s degrees in early childhood education, but it can also be used to prepare students for immediate entry as competent teachers in Head Start programs, nursery schools, and child care centers or as paraeducators in elementary schools. This program views teaching as an emotional and an intellectual process, aiming to develop the ability to be curious observers of children and thoughtful educators who develop knowledge within children through interactive learning and play. The curriculum encourages combining research and experience to discover how children learn and to use family relationships to support the child.
- A high school diploma or GED is required
