Program Details

New York Institute of Technology offers an online Master of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in Adolescent Education. Through this program, professional educators learn more skills for developing grade 7-12 students. Students may obtain an initial or professional certification with this program as well.


  • BS degree from an accredited college or university with a major or its equivalent (a minimum of 30 credits in a concentration) in one of the following areas: English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, Social Studies
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0
  • Personal statement
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Copy of initial teaching certification
  • Immunization form
  • Official copies of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts
  • A competitive score on the GRE or MAT, or an SAT score within the last 5 years
  • Interview with the program chair
