Administrative Assistant Career Studies Certificate
The Administrative Assistant Career Studies Certificate offered by New River Community College is a program of study that is available to students in a completely online format. This program aims to prepare its graduates for immediately employment or advancement in their current career positions. Students are offered updated skills to individuals who are employed as administrative assistants, correspondence secretary, executive secretary, general secretary, legal assistant, medical assistant, word processing, specialist, and other and other office related occupations. Prospective students will have their update the skills of employees skills in proofreading and editing, Microsoft Access, PowerPoint, desktop publishing, and organizational behavior.
This program requires its students to take and complete 18 credit hours of courses in order to graduate with the Administrative Assistant Career Studies Certificate. The required courses include: Editing and Proofreading Skills, Word Processing I and II, Microcomputer Office Applications, Records Management, and Advanced Desktop Publishing. The courses required by this program are paramount to a student gaining the skills and knowledge needed to become an effective administrative assistant.
