Program Details

New River Community College offers an online liberal arts degree, the Associate of Arts & Sciences in Liberal Arts.  With this liberal studies major, students will gain a strong foundation in general education topics.  This program is designed as a transfer program for students who are interested in pursuing four-year degrees but are not yet ready to select definite career objectives.  Instead, you will complete a liberal arts degree that covers a wide variety of general education courses, allowing you to explore fields and determine what direction you wish to take for a baccalaureate degree.  Graduates will also have fulfilled many of the general education course requirements for bachelor’s degrees at four-year institutions, allowing them to enter their chosen college or university at a higher level than freshman status.
