Master of Science in Industrial Engineering

Program Details

The online Master of Science in Industrial Engineering program provides the skills, techniques, and tools needed for settings within industrial engineering as students prepare for managerial positions in the field.  Students will learn about the design, installation, resource allocation, and improvement of integrated systems that are composed of one or more of the following:  people, information, equipment, energy, materials, software, and processes, as they study industrial engineering.  The curriculum teaches students to solve problems, interact on multidisciplinary teams, and work in one of the many facets of industrial engineering, while specializing in Engineering Management.  Students will study topics such as Engineering and Managerial Economics, Administration, Quality Control, Logistics, Project Management, Operations Research, and Strategic Planning.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a school accredited by the ABET and a course in calculus-based probability and statistics OR bachelor’s degree from an accredited school and meets the math prerequisites of the Industrial Engineering department
  • GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) during their last 60 hours of undergraduate study
  • Supplemental documentation as required per the department, which may include test scores, statement of purpose, writing samples, and letters of recommendation
