Program Overview

The online Bachelor of Information & Communication Technology is designed to prepare students to design, implement, and manage a variety of computer-based information systems

The curriculum includes the study of computer hardware, application and operating systems software, system integration, database design and management, networking, and network security. 

Graduates can expect to fill positions with titles such as:

  • Project Manager
  • Systems or Network Administrator
  • Computer Support Specialist
  • Database Administrator

    Requirements

    Requires the completion of 128 credit hours, including transfer credits.

    Associate degree or at least 62 credits from an accredited educational institution including the General Education Common Core Requirements. Grade of "C" or better in: college algebra, computer programming (must be either Java or C++) and a basic computer class literacy including office productivity tools.

    School Overview

    New Mexico State University, a four-year, public, land-grant institution, was founded in 1888 as Las Cruces College. In 1889, the New Mexico territorial legislature authorized the creation of an agricultural college and experiment station and Las Cruces College became the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts. Due to rapid growth, in 1960 university status was awarded and the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts became New Mexico State University. The school's mission is "to serve the educational needs of New Mexico’s diverse population through comprehensive programs of education, research, extension education, and public service."

    Students have a variety of options academically at New Mexico State University. There are nine colleges in which students can find a program to interest them. The colleges include:
