New Jersey Institute of Technology
The MS in Management degree at New Jersey Institute of Technology is specifically designed for working professionals who wish to move into managerial roles within their field. Courses are offered completely online, partially online or on campus. New Jersey Institute of Technology is located in Newark, New Jersey, and is a public research institution. The online educational experience is highly interactive and encourages open communication between classmates and faculty. Students who study full-time are able to complete degree requirements in one year, and part-time students are able to complete requirements in two years.
Students must complete nine credit hours in core courses and an additional 15 credit hours in elective courses and specialization courses. Core courses offered include, Management Accounting, Corporate Finance, Organizational Behavior, and Strategic Management. Students are able to take two elective courses (six credit hours) outside of the School of Management. All courses must be at the graduate level.
Additionally, students are required to complete 15 credit hours of elective specialization courses. Specializations offered for the MS in Management degree are Management and Technology and Management Information Systems. The Management and Technology specialization offers courses in Management Organizational and Technological Change, Information Systems Principles, Management of Technology, Project Management, Knowledge Management and Decision Support Systems for Managers. The Management Information System- Business Intelligence specialization offers courses in Data Management and System Design, Advanced Database Systems, Advanced Systems Analysis and Design, Management Computer and Information Systems, Knowledge Management, Information Systems Principles and Decision Support Systems for Managers.
All prospective students must hold an undergraduate degree in any area of study. However, most students who are accepted into the program hold degrees in engineering, computer science, management and other basic science degrees. Students are required to take the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) in order to be considered for acceptance.
