Certificate in Management Essentials
The Certificate in Management Essentials from New Jersey Institute of Technology is very similar to the Certificate in Finance for Managers program but differs in that it does not introduce international business models, concepts or terms. The certificate program is primarily for business managers and professionals who wish to improve upon their knowledge and understanding of finance, marketing, accounting and management information systems as they apply to management overall.
Students have the opportunity to take all classes to meet graduation requirements online or on New Jersey Institute of Technology's campus. The online educational experience is designed to be completely interactive. Professors and students are able to interact through discussion boards, threads, live chatting and email. Much emphasis is put on discussing topics of study through the live interface portal. Additionally, all courses are offered on NJIT's campus located in University Heights of Newark, New Jersey.
The Management Essentials Certificate program requires only 12 credit hours of course work and is estimated to take one year to complete. Specific program courses include Management Accounting, Financial and Economic Environment, Competing in Global Markets, and Information Systems Principles. All courses are offered online, partially online or on campus.
The Management Accounting course covers concepts of accounting in terms of managing finances for organizations. The Financial and Economic Environment course reviews monetary and regulatory policies as well as interest rates and inflation. The Competing in Global Markets course discusses marketing and manufacturing interfaces as well as the impact of global social influences on market programs. Finally, the Information Systems Principles course looks at the management of information processing.
