Certificate in International Commerce
The Certificate in International Commerce from New Jersey Institute of Technology prepares its graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to have a career working with multinational or small international firms. Program curriculum focuses on international business and the concepts and terms associated with it.
Students will learn about the influence of cultural, political, social,legal and economic issues and the similarities and differences they make in the international business field. Additionally, students will learn management skills by discussing and analyzing current and previous managerial models that various international organizations use. The International Commerce Certificate program also strives to build student appreciation for foreign cultures and their business practices by participating in international projects.
Students must complete 12 credit hours of course work in order to obtain the International Commerce Certificate. The New Jersey Institute of Technology states on its website that most students finish degree requirements within a year. Specific program courses include, Organizational Behavior, Competing in Global Markets, International Finance, International Project Management, and International Accounting. Additionally, all courses offered for the International Commerce Certificate are also offered for the MS in Management degree program at NJIT.
In order to apply to the certificate program, prospective students must have a Bachelor's degree and a grade point average of at least 2.8.
All courses are offered 100 percent online, partially online or on campus. Courses offered online are highly interactive, utilizing discussion boards, live chatting, and threads that all classmates and professors communicate on. Additionally, faculty are highly qualified and interested in each student's academic success. Finally, New Jersey Institute of Technology is located in Newark, New Jersey and is fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
