The Certificate in Crisis Management and Business Continuity at New Jersey Institute of Technology is offered completely online. The program is ideal for individuals who wish to be involved in all phases of Emergency Preparedness. The planning, training, mitigation, detection, alerting, response, recover, evaluation and improvement of emergency events are all covered in the Crisis Management and Business Continuity program at NJIT.

NJIT offers a related graduate certificate in Emergency Management that focuses more on information systems than business. While two required courses for both programs overlap, others are specific to the certification program the student is taking.

Students can choose from program courses including, Principles of Emergency Management, Design of Emergency Management Information System, Managing Organizational Agility: The New Enabled Command Capability, Geographic Information System, Knowledge Management, and Learning Methodologies and Training Technologies.

In order to apply for the Crisis Management and Business Continuity program at NJIT, prospective students must hold an undergraduate degree in either Management, Computing, the Physical, Social, or Behavior Sciences, Human Communication, or Engineering. Additionally, students must have taken at least one probability and statistics course in his or her undergraduate study.

Related degree programs offered at NJIT include the M.S in Computer Science, M.S in Information Systems, M.S in Business and Information Systems and M.S in Web Systems. Required courses for the Certificate in Crisis Management and Business Continuity may be transferred to meet degree requirements for any of the aforementioned degree programs if one wishes to further their education at NJIT after obtaining their certificate.
