Creative Writing - Master of Fine Arts
The MFA in Creative Writing degree from Naropa University is a low-residency program that includes online and in-residence instruction. It is being re-envisioned and will not be accepting students until fall 2015. Members of the program faculty are reviewing the curriculum and taking steps to revise the curriculum in light of student interests, learning objectives in the field, and feedback from alumni. The redesign will better serve students' needs and further enable them to engage with the world as scholars and writers.
The MFA Program in Creative Writing embodies an interest in the student as a person, an emphasis on shared inquiry and critical thinking, and a respect for new and various ways of knowing. The program offers aesthetically diverse classes, an outstanding permanent faculty, numerous distinguished visiting writers and editors, and close faculty-student contact. MFA candidates develop a thorough knowledge of their genre and become a part of a supportive arts community.
