Program Overview

Multnomah University offers a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership for students interested in roles and responsibilities in the church. In order to meet these requirements, students will study scripture and a variety of complementary ministry and leadership skills. The program will help individuals increase their capabilities to serve with a clear biblical and theological understanding of the responsibilities of church leaders in the ministry.

The program consists of 62 credit hours of classes where the student will develop their leadership capability and understanding of the Bible. Some of these classes include communication skills for ministry and leadership, theology of communication and ministry, and principles of spiritual formation.

Students who successfully complete the Christian Leadership program will have proven their mastery of the necessary qualifications for leadership roles in the ministry, which include understanding how to develop strategies in order to meet the needs of different groups in light of contemporary culture, and how to support others in matters of leadership and people management. In addition, students will develop their communication skills which are needed for written, spoken communication and the ability to preach, lead small groups and teach.
