Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program equips learners to become effective English language teachers in a variety of contexts both in the United States and around the world.  The curriculum deepens educators’ understandings of the connections between culture and language as they learn to teach English to non-English speakers.  Graduates are prepared to work with refugees, immigrants, international students, and other English language learners in such arenas as colleges, universities, mission organizations, and language schools across the world.  This degree program is not intended to lead to teacher licensure.

Requirements

  • Requires a two-week intensive in Rwanda with a cohort of students (cost of residency may be additional cost)
  • Four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Demonstrate experience as a language learner
  • Evidence of personal faith
  • Official transcript from each institution you have attended or are currently attending
  • Two references
  • Essay
