Mount Saint Mary College is a private not-for-profit, four-year institution of higher education, located in the city of Newburgh, New York. MSMC was founded by the Sisters of Saint Dominic in 1959 with MSMC having an academic presence since 1883 when the Sisters opened Mount Saint Mary Academy. The first graduates of MSMC celebrated commencement in 1963 and in 1968, the school began co-educational. MSMC’s first master program was introduced in 1984.
Mount Saint Mary College awards certificates, bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees in more than 50 programs of study. Evening and weekend degree programs are available for adult and part-time students enrolled in Adult Degree Completion. About 5 percent of students are enrolled in online education, which includes purely online courses and hybrid courses, a mixture of online and classroom learning.
