School Details

Mount Ida College is a private not-for-profit, four-year institution of higher education, located in the city of Newton, Massachusetts, near Boston. The college was founded in 1899 by George Jewett as a private all-female high school. In 1907, the high school began offering junior-college level courses but degrees were not awarded until 1967. The institution began to admit men in 1972.

Mount Ida College awards associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees in the following schools:

  • School of Applied Science
  • School of Design
  • School of Social Sciences and Humanities
  • School of Business

Mount Ida College offers students an opportunity to learn online and through hybrid courses. Several undergraduate and graduate degrees are offered at least 50% online.

 

Requirements

Admission to the online bachelor degree completion program is open to professionals who have graduated from a funeral service program accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education (ABFSE) and who have been licensed and practiced in funeral home service.
