Program Details

The Graduate Certificate in Child Advocacy and Policy is designed to give students a multidisciplinary education in the role of child advocates within the roles of law, social work, and psychology. Specialized training allows child advocates to navigate the complex dynamics of child abuse and neglect situations. Advocates need to know how to work with multiple systems in a child’s life, including education, mental health, and juvenile justice.

Class topics include the following:

  • Applied child advocacy
  • Child abuse and neglect
  • Current social issues in child advocacy
  • Children and justice
  • Forensic interviewing of children
