Program Details

The online Associate in Science in Mathematics program is designed for students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university to major in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics, or a related field.  The coursework in this program is roughly equivalent to the first two years of a typical four-year program in Mathematics and completion demonstrates preparation for continued study at the junior or senior level.  Students will learn to:

  • Express mathematical ideas in various ways, such as symbolically, graphically, or numerically
  • Perform mathematical procedures proficiently
  • Solve problems using the appropriate analytical methods
  • Develop mathematical models for application problems
  • Formulate mathematical proofs


  • A high school diploma, GED or its equivalent is required
