Program Details

The online AAS in Criminal Justice / Police degree program from Monroe Community College is designed to meet the needs of state, county, and municipal law enforcement agencies, as well as those of select federal departments. Students are prepared for careers in law enforcement through lessons in:

  • The structure and functions of the law enforcement, courts, and corrections components of the criminal justice system
  • The interactions of law enforcement, courts, and corrections with the community in addressing crime in society 
  • Core principles of law and justice as they apply to the roles of citizen and criminal justice professional
  • Appropriate responses to ethical issues encountered in the criminal justice professions
  • Principles related to the acquisition, preservation, and presentation of evidence in a criminal case
  • Criminal justice career options and their required qualifications

Requirements

  • High school transcripts
  • College transcripts (if applicable)
  • New York State residents must have a Certificate of Residence on file in order to receive the resident tuition rate
