Program Details

The online Graduate Certificate in Systems Engineering program is designed for students ready to move into systems engineering positions, interested in pursuing master’s degrees in systems engineering, or who are interested in finding the big picture in complex engineering projects.  The curriculum provides structured training in the fundamentals of systems engineering to equip engineers with the skills needed in the design, operation, and maintenance of systems throughout their life cycles.  This program introduces techniques and concepts that have a broad application and can be applied to any industry, so professional engineers will be able to understand and integrate all components of future systems effectively and as a whole.


  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering or a physical science
  • Minimum of 12-months of professional employment experience or are currently accepted into a graduate degree program at Missouri S&T
  • Undergraduate prerequisites in math and sciences
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
