    Applicant must have maintained a 3.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale on all courses taken at the master’s level. Three letters of recommendation. Statement of purpose. Official transcripts of prior college studies.

    Mississippi State University is a public, four-year institution of higher learning located in rural Oktibbeha County, Mississippi that was founded in 1878. MSU was founded as The Agricultural and Mechanical College of the State of Mississippi. With a focus on agriculture, horticulture and mechanical arts, the college continued to expand its science fields, in addition to adding schools, such as the College of Business and Industry. By the 1950s, graduate programs were introduced and the school officially adopted the title Mississippi State University. Today, MSU retains the purposes of “learning, research, and service.”
