Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education program prepares individuals to teach mild to moderate special education classes in grades K-12.  Courses may include:

  • Advanced Planning for Special Education
  • Introduction to Assessment in Special Education
  • Special Education in the Regular Classroom
  • Intro to Teaching Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disorders
  • Contingency Management with Exceptional Children


  • Bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 2.75 or better in last 60 hours of coursework
  • Praxis Core test or have a composite ACT score of 21 with no sub-score below 18
  • Praxis II: Special Education
  • Background check
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of Purpose
