Mississippi College is a four-year, private not-for-profit institution of higher education, with Southern Baptist affiliations, located in the city of Clinton, Mississippi. Mississippi College was founded in 1826, making it the second-oldest Baptist-affiliated College in the United States as well as the oldest college in the state of Mississippi. In 1831, the institution became the first coeducational College in the United States to grant a degree to women. Today, the college is the largest private university in Mississippi and serves the counties of Clinton, Jackson, Madison, Brandon and Vicksburg.
