Program Overview

The online Undergraduate Certificate in Cisco Networking provides students the essential knowledge and skills needed to install, configure, and operate a small enterprise branch network.  This program prepares students for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification exam as well as the CompTIA Network+ certification.  Students will study routed and switched LAN Emulation networks comprising of Cisco equipment as well as focus on Cisco router and switch configuration procedures.  Other skills include LAN/WAN networking technology, and networking math and media.  

Upon receiving certification, individuals can find employment in several different areas including designing, building, and maintain the IT infrastructure in institutions such as healthcare facilities, corporations, and schools.

    Minnesota State Community and Technical College (“M State”) is a two-year public institution of higher education, located in the city of Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Students can enroll in courses at M State’s campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena. The Fergus Falls campus has a liberal arts focus, and about 75 percent of its students transfer to four-year colleges and universities after they attend M State.

    M State offers associate's degree and certificate programs. Many students at M State choose to complete the first two years of their bachelor's degree by earning a University Transfer degree at any of the or online through eCampus. M State’s eCampus offers over 25 programs and majors that can be completed entirely online.
