Minnesota State College Southeast

Program Details

The online Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education program is a transfer program for students who want to develop a foundation in Early Childhood Education and then transfer to a four-year college or university to complete their bachelor’s degrees.  The program prepares students to work in the early childhood field, impacting the social, cognitive, and emotional growth of children from infancy through school-age years.  The curriculum is both theory and process-oriented and prepares students to practice professional, ethical, and high-quality care giving strategies within diverse settings.  Using the characteristics and needs of young children, graduates will be able to develop appropriate practices and will also develop partnerships with families, community, and educational professionals.  Graduates will use systematic, critical, and creative processes to apply ethical and professional decision-making, and will also design and implement outcome-based learning experiences.
