Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education program prepares students to work in the early childhood field, impacting the social, cognitive, and emotional growth of children from infancy through school-age years.  The curriculum is both theory and process-oriented and prepares students to practice professional, ethical, and high-quality care giving strategies within diverse settings.  Using the characteristics and needs of young children, graduates will be able to develop appropriate practices and will also develop partnerships with families, community, and educational professionals.  Graduates will use systematic, critical, and creative processes to apply ethical and professional decision-making, and will also design and implement outcome-based learning experiences.  Unlike the diploma and certificate options, the Associate of Applied Science degree requires general education courses in addition to courses in the early childhood education field.
