The Associate of Science in Banking and Financial Services degree program is a two-year program; the online format allows this degree to be taken by anyone, regardless of geographical location. Students will have access to all class materials and assignments at any time during the week. This is a ideal option for students currently working full-time and who require a non-traditional class and learning schedule. This program’s main function is to fulfill the first two years of class requirements for most four-year financial baccalaureate degrees.
This program consists of 68 credit hours total. Classes will be a combination of technical finance courses and general education. Accepted students will learn how banks function in both a local and global economy. The program includes history in how money has fueled culture and development through the years, and training in accounting skills, such as payroll and budget keeping. Because many financial institutions rely on clients, a series of sales development classes are included. These classes will teach students well-researched sales and marketing techniques that they will be able to use in any job that requires client interaction. General Education classes such as mathematics and technology will help students to develop critical problem-solving and communication skills that they can use not only in their professional life, but personal enrichment as well.
