Program Details

The online Master of Education in Gifted Education program provides educators with the skills and knowledge necessary to work with gifted and able students.  The curriculum provides the specialized knowledge needed by teachers and other educational personnel who work with gifted and able students in grades K-12 while teaching these educators how to best work with students, families, and communities to nurture a learning environment for a diverse range of gifted learners.  Courses facilitate the exchange of ideas and networking and encourage effective practices when helping gifted students achieve social, emotional, and academic success in school settings.


  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university
  • Instructional I Certification in Pennsylvania or another state
  • A 2.75 or better undergraduate cumulative GPA
  • GRE or MAT scores (waived for applicants with 3.0 GPA or higher)
  • Official transcripts for all institutions attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Written statement of goals
  • Background check (if coming into direct contact with children)
