Program Details

The online Associate of Applied Science in Judicial Reporting program is designed to meet the standards set forth in the National Court Reporters Association Council on Approved Student Education’s General Requirements and Minimum Standards (ncra.org).  The curriculum includes both academic classes and a performance-based outcome with speed building levels to gain speed and accuracy.  Students will learn to use appropriate reference materials, language arts skills, computer-aided transcription software, and a specialized vocabulary found in certain fields to capture the spoken words and will be able to perform court procedures with a professional appearance and demeanor while following legal and ethical principles.

Requirements

  • High school transcript or GED certificate
  • College transcripts, if applicable
  • Applicants with less than an associate's degree are required to take an entrance exam
