Middlesex Community College (MxCC), located in Middlesex, Connecticut, was founded in 1966 as a branch campus of Manchester Community College and became an independent member of the community college system in 1968. Most MxCC students complete a two-year associate’s degree and then transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
MxCC offers certificate programs, degree programs, and continuing education opportunities. The college requires students to complete at least 33 percent of degree programs in liberal arts fields. Most general education courses are taught completely online, although hybrid courses require students to meet a few times on campus. Online classrooms are available 24/7 and students can complete asynchronous coursework that meets their schedules.
