Mid Michigan Community College

Program Overview

Mid Michigan Community College is offering a flexible two-year technology program designed to give students basic technology training and general education skills. The Associate of Applied Science in general technology will give students the skills needed for virtually any career that uses modern information systems.  Graduates will be able to use their education in positions such as CNC operator, engineering technician, electronics technician, legal assistant, machinist, mechanical drafter or office assistant.  Although this degree program allows graduates to use their education immediately in the workforce, graduates will be able to transfer many general education classes into a four-year bachelor's program at any accredited university.

The curriculum for this program consists of 62 credit hours of classes: 9 credit hours will cover communication classes such as English Composition and Fundamentals of Communication, and 12 credit hours in general education classes are required and include study in topics like social sciences, humanities and mathematics. The remainder of the curriculum will be in Applied Arts and Sciences electives. These technology-based classes are chosen by the student and customized to their future career and education goals. This also gives students the opportunity to explore a variety of studies to explore which concentrations are of interest to them.  The online format will let students achieve their degree with high levels of flexibility and personal motivation. The online classes will give students the ability to work at their own pace and in a convenient location. Online classes will provide the same level of education as the on-campus classes and will be administered by experienced instructors.
