Mid Michigan Community College is currently offering an Associate in Applied Science in Business Information Systems for students who are interested in developing an understanding of the many technologies currently integrated into business environments. Students will learn how computer technology can be used to provide the maximum benefit to a variety of businesses. Courses will give students the ability to understand the fundamental concepts of data communication and network design. Graduates will be able to use their degree to enter into a wide range of entry-level business technology positions upon graduation. The skills learned in this program can be used in nearly any job in which data-entry and word processing are used regularly.
Classes in this program are offered mostly online. Students will complete assignments and coursework through an internet learning system, and communicate regularly with online instructors. The curriculum consists of a total of 64 credit hours. These classes are a combination of general education classes, business courses and information systems classes. Students will become proficient in the most commonly used office technologies such as those included in the Microsoft Office Suite and Record Management systems. Examples of classes include: Business Communications, Transcription, Advance Word Processing, Office Procedures and Terminology & Proofreading. Most students will be able to earn their associate's degree within two years. Although 95 percent of classes are available online, students are still required to attend some classes on the Mid-Michigan Community College campus located in Harrison, MI.

Mid Michigan Community College is a two-year public school with three campuses located in Michigan since 1965. MMCC offers certificates and associate’s degrees in more than 50 academic programs. Transfer programs are designed for students planning to pursue baccalaureate degrees at four-year institutions. Career programs provide students with the necessary skills and related knowledge to qualify for future positions in different industries. Courses are offered in several formats, including face-to-face traditional classroom courses, courses offered completely online, and hybrid courses (a combination of both).
