Mid Michigan Community College
Mid-Michigan Community College is currently offering an Associate in Applied Science in Business degree. This hybrid degree program trains students to enter into an entry-level business position with the technical skills and business knowledge needed to succeed. Students will take classes that focus on business pillars such as accounting, economics, finance and marketing. Students will also complete general education courses that provide students with communication, writing and critical thinking skills to function effectively in a business environment. Graduates will be able to use their skills in positions such as project assistant, administrative assistant, office manager, management trainee and office support specialist.
The curriculum for this program consists of 65 credit hours of course taught over two years, while 95 percent of the classes will be offered through an online environment. Students are responsible for completing assignments and coursework on their own schedule and pace. One class must be attended on Mid-Michigan Community College’s campus in Harrison, MI. During the course of this program, students will complete 21 credits of general education classes. These classes serve to give students a well-rounded foundation and include topics such as English Composition, Science, Social Science and Fine Arts. The final 44 credit hours consist of lower-level business classes. Examples of business courses include Financial Accounting, Introduction to Information Systems, and Introduction to Business Issues, Business Communications and International Business. To be qualified for graduation, individuals must meet the minimum grade point average of 2.0.
