Christian individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in accounting may wish to consider Mid-America Christian University’s Bachelor of Accounting and Ethics degree program. This intensive accounting degree has been designed with working, Christian adults in mind. It is offered in an extremely flexible online format that allows working students to complete their assignments and classwork during the weekend and evening hours. Students will be able to receive the same level of educational quality as on-campus classes, with experienced instructors available for communication during all classes.
This degree program will focus on developing student’s communication, critical thinking and technical skills as they relate to business finances. It covers important skills in accounting such as: taxation, auditing, coast analysis, financial, and accounting law. Following completion of this program, students will have a usable base of business knowledge to immediately enter into an accounting position. Graduates will be able to use their skills in fields such as taxation, management consulting, external reporting, budget planning, financial management, product planning, accounting policy formation and price surveillance. Upon graduation, students will be able to take the exam required to become a certified public accountant.
This program consists of a total of 84 credit hours, administered online. The curriculum is a combination of business theory, theology and related general education. This program is designed for working adults and individuals must be at least 22 years of age to be admitted. This is a core major program, so students must have already completed 49 credit hours of lower division general education. Students have the option of fulfilling these requirements through Mid-American Christian University’s many associate's degree programs.

The university first opened in 1953 as the South Texas Bible Institute in Houston, Texas. By 1955, the school offered a four-year degree and changed its name to the Gulf Coast Bible College. Today Mid-America Christian University is a four-year, private not-for-profit liberal arts institution. Associated with the Church of God, Mid-America Christian’s mission statement “prepares students through a Wesleyan perspective to create, collaborate, and innovate to solve local and global problems for the glory of God through Jesus Christ and the good of society.”
MACU offers Bible-based liberal programs and ministry education, extending more than 25 fields of study for graduates and undergraduates. The school offers certificates, associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees. Students have the option to complete degrees delivered online, offered through once-weekly accelerated formats, or hybrid sessions. Online coursework is available for first-time students, returning students and graduate programs. Online degree programs offer certificates, associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, and master’s degrees.
