Educational Technology - Graduate Certificate

Program Details

Students enrolled to earn a graduate certificate in Educational Technology from Michigan State University will learn about development, design, and implementation of learning activities that have a foundation in technology. This program is designed for current teachers who are interested in introducing technology into their classroom to create a new learning environment. Earning this certificate will benefit teachers, their students, schools, and school districts. A bachelor’s degree is required for admission to this program.

The college in which this certificate is offered at MSU is the College of Education. This college is dedicated to improve teaching and learning in all areas by promoting excellence and visionary thinking. Participants in this program will evaluate their teaching methods and consider new instruction techniques that will help their students improve academically.

The completion of three courses is required to earn this certificate. Students will take Teaching for Understanding with Technology, Adapting Innovative Technologies to Education, and Applying Educational Technology to Issues of Practice. Each course is worth three credits, with an end total of nine credits for this certificate program.

After successful completion of this program, students will be able to create and implement a plan to integrate technology into their classroom, apply technology to facilitate learning and personal productivity, and display an advanced understanding of technology concepts and operation process.
