Associate in Science in Marketing Management / Entrepreneurship
Miami Dade College offers an Associate of Science degree in Marketing Management and Entrepreneurship for students who want to understand business markets and how to advertise and relate products to their customers in order to promote the success of a business or organization. Students will learn about the process of management in an organization that utilizes marketing systems, and of management of markets, brand advertising, product development, research, and focused strategies. Through the program, student will learn to build and manage brand value by making marketing decisions such as market identification, messaging strategy, and choice in media and determining the success of a marketing campaign.
Students will learn about the fundamentals of marketing as well as the principles of business operation and management. Those classes include basic business statistics, financial accounting, principles of accounting, microcomputers in accounting, business law, legal environment, principles of microeconomics, principles of business, principles of management, principles of marketing, business writing, introduction to entrepreneurship, introduction to e-commerce, fundamentals of selling, introduction to customer service, and small business management.
Through the program, students will develop professional qualifications which will be the basis of careers in business and marketing. These qualifications include but are not limited to: the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the fundamental principles of marketing, to demonstrate critical-thinking and analysis skills to develop marketing solutions, to analyze ethical issues that impact business decisions from economic, political, legal, and social perspectives, and to evaluate the application of technology as a strategy for competitive advantage in business.
