The online Advanced Certificate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is designed for students with a master’s degree in a related field who are pursuing mental health counseling licensure. The curriculum satisfies New York State’s regulations for licensure, and provides students with the educational requirements needed to sit for the New York State licensure exam in Mental Health Counseling. Students who complete this program may pursue careers as mental health clinic counselors, drug and alcohol program clinicians, hospital/psychiatric center therapists, college and university counselors, private practice therapists, and more.
Applicants must possess at least a 48-hour master's degree in counseling. Maximum credit hours needed: 18 (students need no more than 4 core courses plus internship) to enter the program.
